Dancing With the Stars Season 17 Week 2: Best and Worst Performances

Dancing With the Stars Season 17 had its first elimination last night for Week 2. Sigh. We'll miss you, Sharna. It was kind of a bummer to see someone go on performance night. Fortunately, there were a ton of fun dances to make up for the misery of saying goodbye.

Who impressed us the most, and who needs work? Here are Wetpaint Entertainment's picks for best and worst of the night.

Best: Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff — Jive

Gotta go with the judges on this one. While we're still wary of all the 9s they're throwing around already, we're all about the high energy and sharp moves in this dance.

Score: 26/30.

Honorable Mention: Elizabeth Berkley and Valentin Chmerkovskiy — Samba

Hi, sexy Val. We love you, sexy Val. Oh, and Elizabeth was good too, we guess.

Score: 25/30

Honorable Mention: Mark Ballas and Christina Milian — Paso Doble

We don't always love Mark's choreography, but this week it worked for us. Cool dance, and Christina performed it well. Maybe not as fun as Amber Riley, but she loses out in our minds because why did you motorboat her Derek? WHY?

Score: 25/30

Worst: Keyshawn Johnson and Sharna Burgess — Samba

Sad to say, but Keyshawn just didn't have the moves. Sharna deserved better. Sigh.

Score: 18/30.

Dishonorable Mention: Bill Nye the Science Guy and Tyne Stecklein

Bill Nye is a ton of fun, but the technique is not quite there, and in a field this strong, that matters — even in Week 2. Still, he'll stick around for a while, we think.

Score: 17/30
