Dancing With the Stars 2013: Season 17, Week 7 Dance Styles Revealed

Here we are at Week 7 of Dancing With the Stars Season 17 and we still have eight couples in the competition, thanks to last week’s voting number snafu. This week, the couples have individual routines and team dances. Here are the two teams. A few couples are still playing coy on their other dance styles, so we’ll have to wait for updates, but here’s what we know so far.

Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd: Jive

"We have the Jive next week,” Peta told AfterBuzz. “It's a great song. We have a really, like, everyone's going to get up and start clapping. Everyone knows it." It's a "classic" kind of crowd-pleasing song, apparently.

Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke: Jive

They got a 9 and two 8s for their Week 6 Paso Doble, which isn't their highest score overall, but Cheryl is still good with it. "This is our highest Latin score so we are definitely improving when it comes to the Latin dances," she told On the Red Carpet. "Next week we have the Jive, which is another Latin dance.” She turned to Jack, noting, “So you better start kicking." Jack was surprised to learn Jive was a Latin dance.

Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff: Cha-Cha

Karina told AfterBuzz they have the Cha-Cha, but no other details. Last week, they talked up their “epic” song and the Game of Thrones routine didn’t exactly wow the judges. So this week they’ll probably be motivated to improve and go for 10s.

Bill Engvall and Emma Slater: Quickstep

Emma told AfterBuzz they have Quickstep, saying, “That’s a good one.” Bill's ready for anything, especially after last week’s big non-elimination twist: "Whatever. They can’t throw anything more at me!”

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Sasha Farber: Samba

Sasha told AfterBuzz they have the Samba. Snooki has a busy schedule, which can affect rehearsals, but it’s also a good kind of challenge. Here’s Snooki sharing a selfie during rehearsals, while Sasha wants to work on their Samba.

Amber Riley and Derek Hough: Paso Doble

Amber and Derek haven’t mentioned their individual dance style yet, but Derek did say he thought he was coming down with something. Stay well!

UPDATE: Scary news from Amber’s PARADE blog: “This week, we’re doing a Paso Doble. Derek’s back is really bothering him, so I am learning with one of the other dancers, Henry, and Derek is still there choreographing. I may have to actually do the dance with someone else if his back doesn’t feel better because he’s severely injured. It’s a little touch and go right now, but we’ll see what happens during rehearsal and whether or not Derek will feel well enough to perform on Monday, or if he has to take it easy for a minute. It is definitely an adjustment rehearsing with someone else. It’s a little weird because I’m dancing with one person but I’m listening to Derek, so it’s a little confusing! But we’ll see what happens, and here’s wishing Derek a speedy recovery!”

Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani: Salsa

According the the official DWTS Instagram, Leah and Tony are dancing the Salsa.

Elizabeth Berkley and Valentin Chmerkovskiy: Quickstep

We’re also waiting for word from Elizabeth and Val! UPDATE: The official DWTS Instagram account shared the video below, adding, "The quickstep: business on top, buck wild on the bottom. Will #TeamElizabeth nail it on Monday? #dwts @elizberkley @iamvalc."

Which dance are you most looking forward to seeing on Monday, October 28? Tell us below, and catch the dances at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
