Esther will bring him back. We’ve already seen the Mikaleson matriarch bring herself and presumably her son Finn back to life. And by “back to life,” we mean putting their souls or whatever into other people’s bodies. Will Esther do something similar for Kol, perhaps using him as part of her apparent scheme to take down Klaus?
Mikael will bring him back. Not to be outdone by his wife, Mikael Mikaelson is also kicking around NOLA, plotting his revenge against Klaus. Though Mikael may not have Esther’s witchy powers to bring people back from the dead, he does have Davina who is a powerful witch in her own right. It’s hard to imagine her agreeing to bring Kol back, but you never know. Maybe these two have developed a friendship over the summer hiatus?
In flashbacks. The least exciting option, in our opinion, is for Kol to make some appearances in flashbacks to the long, violent history of the Mikaelson clan. There’s so much we still don’t know about the Mikaelsons’ past and, though we’d ideally like to see Kol in present-day, we’ll take him in flashback form, too.
He won’t. Kol will stay a corpse. It would be a cruel, cruel tease if — after showing Kol in the trailer — The Originals Powers That Be kept Kol as a corpse instead of bringing him back for real, but sadder things have happened. This show is still in its relative infancy, and there are already a host of other Mikaelsons making their return in Season 2. Perhaps we will have to wait a bit longer for our boy Kol to pop to NOLA for a visit. Then again, the destruction of the Other Side in the The Vampire Diaries finale looked pretty definitive. Could Kol really be gone for good?
How, if at all, do you think The Originals will bring Kol back? Share your theories in the comments below!
