We already know that Nashville Season 2 will see the demise of Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon’s (Charles Esten) relationship, but according to Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott) the ABC drama’s sophomore season will also see several new pairings take shape.
Sam tells E! Online, “We got some new relationships being formed. It's juicy, you know!”
Rayna is clearly playing the field after her breakup with Deke, and although Sam wouldn’t say if Gunnar’s season-ending proposal to Scarlett (Clare Bowen) has a happy outcome, we’re still holding out and crossing our fingers for those two country crooners.
“I can't [reveal anything] without really spoiling one of Gunner's big is-he-or-isn't-he kind of things," Sam continued. "But safe to say, there are a lot of people getting involved with each other again this season.”
One possible pair that’s just friends, however, is Gunnar and Will (Chris Carmack). The guys are able to move past Will’s unsolicited smooch and thankfully remain friends.
Romance aside, Sam insists Season 2 of Nashville is loaded with new characters, new tunes, and more. “We got a host of new characters. We got some new country stars, and we got some characters of the past of Scarlett and Gunnar,” he concludes.
Nashville Season 2 premieres on September 25 at 10 p.m. ET.
