From the sound of things, this is going to be a great episode and might provide some clues about what Hook was up to in the mysterious missing year. But what exactly are we in for when we tune in on Sunday? We've gathered the most interesting clues and spoilers about the episode right here.
First, let's start with the official synopsis of the episode, which gives us a lot to chew on.
Ariel returns to Storybrooke and pleads with Hook to help her find Prince Eric, who never returned to the town when the new curse was invoked. Emma agrees to let Regina teach her how to use magic so that she can help defeat Zelena, and Mary Margaret and David try to prove that they can be just as much fun as Hook is with Henry — who thinks they are boring. Meanwhile, in Fairy Tale Land during the past year, an angry Ariel confronts Hook over her missing Prince Eric, who she assumes was kidnapped and possibly killed by the swarthy pirate. But when Hook confesses that the Jolly Roger has been stolen and Eric is most likely the thief’s prisoner, Ariel unknowingly provides him with a clue as to who the culprit is, and Hook — with Ariel in tow — goes off in search of his ship.
As we said, that's a lot of info. So let's break some of it down.
Emma and Regina
Before we get to Hook, let's talk about that tidbit about Emma (Jennifer Morrison) agreeing to learn magic from Regina (Lana Parrilla). According to Jennifer Morrison, we can expect some "fun" and "interesting" scenes between these former enemies as Emma reluctantly agrees to learn about the side of herself she's been trying to resist.
But just because Emma agrees to learn magic doesn't mean that she's ready to embrace her fairytale life, as you can see in the sneak peek below.
Oh, Emma. As if you could ever really leave this world behind.
Who Stole the Jolly Roger?
The synopsis is cryptic about who's taken Hook's ship away from him, but we're guessing the answer is Blackbeard (Charles Mesure). We know the fearsome pirate is going to be featured in this episode and will face off against Hook, so it would make sense if he's the one who made off with Hook's ship and Ariel's (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) prince.
