The Official Synopsis

We'll start with the official synopsis of the episode, which sheds some light on where the story is going next.

Mr. Gold makes a decision to confront Pan, but will he go there to save Henry or give into the prophecy that the boy will be his undoing? Neal finds himself back in Neverland and in the custody of one of Pan’s most loyal Lost Boys. And David struggles for his life as the poison continues to take its toll on him. Meanwhile, in the Fairy Tale Land that was, Rumplestiltskin goes in search of a missing Bae, who has followed a mysterious figure who steals away children with his music.

Well, it certainly looks like those of you who were missing Rumple last week will be fully compensated with a big helping of everyone's favorite Dark One this week. We know we're not the only ones excited about that news.

Oh, if you're wondering who that "mysterious figure who steals away children with his music" is, we're thinking it's Peter Pan himself, based on the images of Dark One Rumple and Young Bae in Neverland.

Rumple and Nealfire

So, how does Rumple react when he learns that Nealfire is alive after all? We get the answer this week (see? The pace really has picked up!), and we get a first glimpse of their reunion in a sneak peek that you can watch here. Spoiler alert: It's not all warm and fluffy.

Indeed, in that clip, father and son almost immediately launch into a question of morals. Rumple declares that he's the only one who has what it takes to save Henry, and implies that the rescue mission might require offing a Lost Boy or two. Nealfire disagrees.

Rumple also reiterates that to beat Pan, you need to be willing to die, and he is willing to die. However, Nealfire throws a wrench in that plan when he hints, "What if there was another way?" Hmm... That would explain why the synopsis implies Rumple is having doubts about his determination to die.
