There’s nothing we love more than a good love triangle, and Once Upon a Time has given us plenty of them to obsess over in just three short seasons on TV. Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) has perhaps the most contentious love life of them all — currently, she seems caught between Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and Neal (Michael Raymond-James). What’s next for this trio in the love department? Read on to find out!
“It’s been on pause — time has stood still, and Emma has met someone else in New York whom she’s very serious with,” Jennifer teased to TV Guide about the midseason premiere. “She’s looking at him as a great father figure for Henry, and as far as Emma is aware, he is a good guy — but there’s more to him than what’s on the surface.”
Bow chica wow wow! Get it, Emma. While we’re happy that Emma's found someone who seems great, we really hope this little fling comes to an end soon, even if it mean swe are thrown back into the dreaded love triangle again. After all, Jennifer seems to hint her new guy isn't all he's cracked up to be, anyway. If we do go back to the love triangle, who does Jennifer want Emma to end up with?
“Obviously, Emma has a connection to Neal — she spent an incredible time in her life with him. And Hook has proven himself to be someone who's helping and has truly changed,” Jennifer continued. “But from an acting perspective, I have really strong feelings about not judging my characters' choices — in any role that I take on. If I were playing a serial killer, I would have to figure out a way to love that person and [discover] what motivated her. No one walks around trying to be terrible!”
Way to walk around that answer, Jennifer. Sigh.
Are you surprised to hear about another man in Emma’s life? Who do you think Emma should be with: Hook or Neal? Someone else? (We see you, Swan Queen fans!) Hit the comments and sound off!
Once Upon a Time airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
