Scandal is known for turning your expectations on their heads, and the end of the Season 3 fall finale (Episode 10: "A Door Marked Exit") didn't disappoint. Olivia's mom is back in town, Quinn is off with her psycho killer boyfriend, and David Rosen knows the veep killed her hubby and that the white house covered it up. And we're seriously supposed to wait until February 27, 2014 to find out what happened next? Come on!
While Shonda Rhimes can keep secrets locked down even more effectively than Olivia Pope and Associates, there is some info about the second half of the season floating around out there on the interwebs, and we've gathered the juiciest spoilers here for your reading pleasure. A new love interest for Mellie? It's all work and no play for poor Mellie, but it sounds like that might finally change. We know for sure that the show has cast Jon Tenney in a recurring role for the new season. It sounds like he'll play the 40-something character that some suspect could be a love interest for Mellie. Whatever part he plays, at least he's easy on the eyes!
A shorter season. Boo. Instead of the usual 22 episodes, Scandal will only have 18 episodes this season. Why? ABC didn't give an official reason for cutting the season short, but given that the show's ratings are holding strong, we have to assume it's because of star Kerry Washington's pregnancy. Hey, if one of our fave shows is going to have a shorter season, that's just about the best reason why!
Will Olivia be pregnant? Speaking of Kerry's pregnancy, it sounds like it won't be written into the show. That's consistent with the shorter seaso,n since the show needs to stop filming before it becomes totally impossible to hide Kerry's baby bump.
