1. Belle as mayor. There's nothing we want more than to see Belle come into her own while Rumple is away, and what better way to make that happen then to allow her to flex her leadership muscles? Rumple sort of de facto lefther in charge by making her responsible for the protection spell, and we have a feeling the other Storybrooke residents will embrace her. She'd certainly make a very different leader than Regina...
2. Who are these characters without the Charmings? Something we hope the show takes the time to explore is how not having Snow and Charming around impacts everyone else. Many of the secondary characters have spent years fighting for and following their king and queen. How do they react when they're left on their own? What new sides of them will we see?
3. Focus on character development. As implied in the first two points, we really hope this Storybrooke section of the show will put emphasis on character development, not flashy plots. We have a feeling there will be enough action in Neverland and the Enchanted Forest; we think the writers would be wise to use Storybrooke as a way to slow things down and delve into characters who've been sidelined. We're not saying nothing should happen — after all, the Home Office is still out there — but with the immediate threat gone, it would be nice to see these characters take a moment to breathe, and try to come to terms with everything that's happened to them.
