Once Upon a Time Season 3: 3 Things We Want From the Wicked Witch

If there's one thing Once Upon a Time is good at, it's taking classic fairy tale figures and creating compelling villains out of them. Turning Peter Pan into a bad guy? Kinda brilliant. So, of course, we're looking forward to seeing OUAT's take on the Wicked Witch when Season 3 returns in March.

We have high hopes for this new character, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that they won't be dashed. To that end, we've put together a wish-list for the new witch. Read through our wants, and then let us know what you want from the witch below!

1. Let her be wicked. We've already read Wicked, we don't need to see another version of this character who is just, at her core, misunderstood. While we're open to the show giving the witch a complex backstory, we hope that she, like Peter Pan, remains essentially evil in the present. With Regina and Rumple both well on their way to redemption, this show needs some bad guys who are truly bad.

2. Have some humor! The Wicked Witch of the West is a character custom made for going over the top. She's bright green, she has flying monkeys helping her out, she wants to get Dorothy and her little dog, too. We hope the show embraces that, and lets their version of this character be awesomely flamboyant and a bit funny, while stilling keeping her a credible threat. Think Regina in full Evil Queen mode, but with a new twist.

3. Let's try disconnect this time. Every major OUAT villain has had some sort of deep connection to at least one of the main characters. We think it would be pretty interesting to finally see a character who is truly not associated with anyone else swoop in and cause trouble.
