We love every Pretty Little Liars episode, but they are definitely not all created equally. There’s the occasional clunker and the occasional gem. Here are the five Season 4.0 episodes we think are going to fall into the latter category, our five most anticipated!
Season 4, Episode 1: “A Is For A-L-I-V-E”
This one is sort of a gimme. Even if it is totally disappointed, it still marks the return of our favorite teen mystery drama after months on hiatus...But we really don’t think it’s going to suck. Everyone knows that answers come in the season finale and season premieres, and we have been promised a slew in this episode. What’s in the trunk? Who is the Queen of Hearts? Who killed Garrett? We’ve earned answers to these questions, and we’ll gladly collect on June 11.
Season 4, Episode 5: “Gamma Zeta Die”
Mike Montgomery is back! Sure, he isn’t the most interesting character in the PLL universe, but the younger Montgomery sib dropped off the face of the planet in Season 3 and we’re eager to hear what he’s been up to. Is he still suffering from depression? Is he still friends with Noel Kahn? Does he have a thing for Hanna like he did in the books? We’re sure we’ll get at least a few of these questions answers in this ep. If not, there are always the following two episodes - both which reportedly both include Mike (and also happened to make our list - it’s going to be a good couple of weeks).
Season 4, Episode 6: “Under the Gun”
We love all of the Ravenswood casting and plot spoilers we’ve collected, but we’re dying to see the town in action. We’re pretty sure our first glimpse of the town will come in this PLL ep, which sees Spencer and Toby taking a trip to Ravenswood. Not only will we get a look at the Ravenswood set-up (including, apparently, the all-important post office), but we’ll meet a recurring Ravenswood character, the fabulously-named Mrs. Grundwald. Where do we sign up?
Season 4, Episode 7: “Crash and Burn, Girl”
From the sound of it, something big is going down in this ep. The cast and crew have really been hyping it:
“You will not believe what happened! crAzy night... ! #16hrdayofdrama #PLL,” Shay Mitchell (Emily) tweeted.
“That? Was awesome! #PLL #407 #nospoilers #amazingpie,” writer Bryan Holdman agreed.
We’re not even sure the plot deets of this episode, but based on the enthusiasm, we’ve already marked our calendars.
We are both dreading and anxiously awaiting the arrival of this episode, but it still deserves a place on our list. It will most likely make us unhappy, says Lucy Hale (Aria), but she also calls it the “most shocking” episode yet, and we’re suckers for shockers. We are going to lose Caleb, but we are also going to get an entire other show in Ravenswood. Halloween specials are always amongst PLL’s best. We doubt this season’s will be any different.
