The Walking Dead Season 4: AMC Confirms David Morrissey Isn’t Leaving Show

When it was announced a few months ago that actor David Morrissey (who plays The Governor on AMC’s The Walking Dead) had landed a series regular role on Line of Sight, another AMC drama, many wondered if this was the end of The Gov., a character who has made it his mission to destroy Rick and his entire prison gang.

However, in AMC’s statement confirming David’s Line of Sight casting, the network maintains that there are no plans for him to leave TWD.

“We are huge fans of David Morrissey and are glad he’ll be doing double duty for AMC viewers through his work on The Walking Dead and our pilot for Line of Sight, both of which are produced in Atlanta,” AMC told Deadline.

Spoilers below!

Still, as readers of The Walking Dead comic books are well-aware, The Governor eventually dies. While comic book creator Robert Kirkman has made it abundantly clear that the show is not explicitly following the comics, we have to wonder if The Gov.’s days are numbered, especially if David’s new series really takes off.

Are you worried about The Governor’s future on TWD, or do you believe AMC will keep David on two shows at once? Tell us your thoughts and theories below!
