Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Speculation: Did Ashley Marin Kill Wilden?

One thing seems very clear on Pretty Little Liars Season 4: Ashley Marin (Laura Leighton) is hiding something. Her mysteriously muddy Manolo Blahniks are clearly bad news, and in this sneak peek of Episode 3 it's clear she's been lying about her whereabouts. But why? Could she possibly have been the one who killed Wilden?

Here are a few theories about what Ashley Marin is hiding. Then we want to hear your theories in the comments below.

She did kill Wilden. We have a hard time believing Ashley would intentionally set out to murder someone, even Wilden, but we could see her confronting him about the car crash situation/his general terribleness, and bringing a gun to protect herself. If things then spiraled out of control (and we wouldn't put it past Wilden to attack her), we could see a situation where she would shoot him in panicked self defense.

She just confronted Wilden. On the other hand, maybe Ashley just had a meeting with Wilden, and she's trying to cover it up because she realizes that makes her look super guilty, even though she wasn't actually involved with his death. If Red Coat (or someone else) knew about the meeting, s/he might have decided that it provided a perfect moment to off Wilden him/herself.

She witnessed the murder. Or how about this: Ashley went to confront Wilden (or did and was then leaving) when she witnessed someone else killing him. If she thought she looked guilty — or, even better, if "A" (or someone else) realized she saw and started blackmailing her — that would explain her caginess.

Or, hey, maybe it's all misdirection, and Ashley's secret doesn't have to do with Wilden at all.
