The Walking Dead Season 4: Beth Has a Crush on Daryl?

Who doesn’t have a crush on The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus)?

Women want him, men want to be him, and squirrels and owls fear him. There’s been all this talk about how Daryl is a juicy piece of mancandy but he’s never had any romantic action, beyond flirting with Carol (Melissa McBride). “Caryl” shippers want that relationship to develop in Season 4, which starts October 13 on AMC, and Norman has said — if it happens — he’d like it to be awkward, with Carol making the first move.

But what about Beth (Emily Kinney)?

Last season, some people read into a little kiss Beth gave Rick (Andrew Lincoln) in one of the trailers. Did she have a crush on him? We figured she was just thanking him for saving her sister Maggie (Lauren Cohan) in Woodbury, and that’s what it turned out to be. Now we have another trailer, for Season 4, which shows Beth looking like she might now have a crush on Daryl. (Check around the 3:53 mark.)The girl has good taste, but … is TWD really going to set up a Beth/Daryl relationship? had a nice little Q&A with Norman, and they asked if Beth might be developing a little bit of a crush on Daryl this season. Norman answered, “I can’t tell you that, but god she’s cute so fingers crossed.”

Duuuuuuuude, she’s a kid! Yeah, Emily is 28 in real life (and Norman is 44), but Beth is a teenager. She’s Maggie’s little sister. A one-sided crush could be cute, as long as Daryl gently brushes her off, and maybe Carol teases him about it. But any romance focused in that area would be kinda creepy, no?

It would definitely upset Caryl fans. It would also upset young Carl (Chandler Riggs), since he has a crush on Beth. Carl is not someone you want to tick off, especially in his current shoot-first-don’t-apologize-second mental state.

What do you think? It’s only normal to crush on Daryl, but do you like the idea of Beth swooning over the guy in Season 4? Sound off below!
