Pretty Little Liars Season 4: Casting Aria’s Perfect Rebound Guy
With Ezra out of Aria’s (Lucy Hale) romantic picture — at least for now — we think Aria might be due for a Pretty Little Liars-style rebound. Now, we have a prospective guy in Nick Roux, the adorable blonde Aria’s seen hanging with in the promo pictures for Season 4, Episode 22, but is her one true rebound? If not, here are our top casting choices for the next guy in Aria’s life.
We’ve loved Jean-Luc since he stole our hearts as the snarky Josh Trager on Kyle XY. These days, he’s on another ABC Family show, Baby Daddy, and he is all grown up. The 23-year-old is totally hot, and also happens to be BFFs with Lucy. She recently guest starred on his show! We’d love to see these two together again on screen, in a more dramatic role. Plus, the real-life besties can laugh together between takes!
Television romance is all about chemistry, so why leave it to chance? We already know that Lucy has some killer chemistry with Rob Mayes (who also starred on Jane By Design, as Tommy Nutter), given that the two played a couple in the awesome Lifetime movie, Sorority Wars. In it, Luce played Katie Parker, a girl pulled into a world of female harassment when she pisses off the wrong sorority sister. It totally has its theme of bullying in common with PLL— maybe Lucy and Rob could even use some of the same lines?
Speaking of former Lucy Hale romantic co-stars, the Pretty Little Liar shared the screen with British hottie Freddie Stroma (perhaps best known as Harry Potter’s Cormac McLaggen) in 2011’s A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song. The two starred as two teenage musicians brought together through songwriting. Maybe it’s time Aria broke out the old guitar?
Is it cheating to cast someone who’s technically already been cast? Whatever. We’ve always liked Aria’s childhood friend Holden (played by Troian Bellisario’s real-life bestie, Shane Coffey). Aria and Holden totally had this adorable banter thing going on in Season 2, but Aria was dating Ezra at the time, so it never moved past friendship. Even so, they shared some great scenes, Holden once used his martial arts skills to save Aria, and they seemed to genuinely trust one another. Holden and Aria had a deal to play each other’s decoy dates, but we think it’s time they dropped the decoy and went out for real.
