Game of Thrones Season 4: Former Nashville Star to Replace WHO?!

UPDATE 8/30/2013: The Hollywood Reporter reports that Michiel Huisman won't play a new Game of Thrones character but will be replacing a current one! You read right; word is Michiel will be taking over the role of Daario Naharis, aka the badass who served Daenerys the heads of her enemies at the end of Season 3.

If the rumor is right, Michiel would replace actor Ed Skrein. HBO hasn't confirmed the change but, if it is happening, the Mary Sue speculates that Ed may have had a conflicting commitment that took him away from GoT. It's a shame for him seeing as — slight spoiler ahead — Daario's got some steamy one-on-ones coming up with the Mother of Dragons.

The Game of Thrones team is adding a new hunk to its already hot as dragon fire cast for the fourth season, TV Line reports. The new handsome addition is also familiar with television work, since he appeared on the ABC drama Nashville. But now Michiel Huisman has decided to ditch the guitar and join GoT in a recurring role.

As of publishing, nothing’s been leaked about who Michiel will play as if that’ll stop us from guessing. Based on his Nashville role as the wanna-be homewrecker and full-time music producer Liam McGuinnis, we can deduce the following about his GoT character: He’s probably not a goody two-shoes; he might be musically inclined; and he’ll likely break a couple of hearts.

Also, since TV Line claims Michiel’s role is a recurring one we’re guessing he won’t be killed off immediately, a point that certainly narrows the playing field when it comes to George R.R. Martin characters.

As for a little background on the actor himself, the 32-year-old Dutch native has previously starred in Emily Blunt’s The Young Victoria (Michiel played Prince Albert’s equally dashing brother Ernest). He more recently starred in Brad Pitt’s zombie epic World War Z and has also previously appeared on HBO in the drama Treme.

So who do you think Michiel will play? Speculate to your heart’s content in the comments below!
