The Walking Dead Season 4: Chad Coleman’s Favorite Tyreese Moment Still to Come!

We were first introduced to Tyreese (Chad Coleman) sparingly during Season 3 of The Walking Dead, but if we had to pick a defining moment for the character, and actor for that matter, we’d say that Tyreese and Chad really blew us away in Season 4, Episode 3: “Isolation.”

To refresh your memory, “Isolation” was the episode after Tyreese initially found David and his girlfriend Karen’s charred bodies just outside the prison. He was so overcome with grief and rage at Karen’s murder that he got physical with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and made the former cop promise to find out who would kill two members of Team Prison in cold blood.

He opened up to AMC’s blog about filming that confrontation scene, saying, “That was really intense man, because we’re all game, and we all love doing our own stunts. There was a lot of adrenaline, and the director was fantastic. It was kind of claustrophobic because that space was pretty small, with dudes throwing each other around.”

By the end of the episode Rick — who had gone on a medicine run with Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) — knew that she was responsible for the murders, but during his own supply run with Michonne, (Danai Gurira) Daryl Dixon, (Norman Reedus) and Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.) Tyrese was unraveling.

Fresh off the discovery of Karen’s burnt corpse Tyreese was back out in the world, but it’s clear that he wasn’t ready to be. He let a horde of walkers surround him, only so he could come at them with his axe later. It seemed clear that Ty actually wanted to die, but with some encouragement from the others he soldiered on. We thought for sure that “Isolation” was his best episode yet, but apparently Chad has another favorite moment that we haven’t even seen yet!

When AMC asked the skilled actor to name his favorite Season 4 moment, he simply replied, “It hasn’t come yet.”

Since we know that Rick knows the identity of Karen’s killer but Tyreese is still in the dark, we have a sneaking suspicion that Chad’s favorite moment is related to Carol and her role in Karen’s murder. Will Rick finally spill the beans? Will Carol return to the prison and tell Tyreese the truth herself?
