If you don’t want to know who died in Season 4, Episode 14 of The Walking Dead, we suggest you stop reading right now. Seriously.
For those of you who love to be spoiled or just want to relive the events of “The Grove”, feel free to read on. Though we haven’t seen much death in the back half of Season 4, save for some redshirts and the bus people, the March 16 instalment certainly helped us up this season’s body count in not one, but two shocking ways.
“The Grove” focused solely on Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Tyreese (Chad Coleman), Lizzie (Brighton Sharbino), Mika (Kyla Kenedy), and baby Judith, although two of them didn’t make it out of the ep alive.
First, walker obsessed Lizzie stabbed Mika, even forcing Carol and Tyreese to allow her to watch her little sister turn. That, combined with Lizzie’s generally bizarre behavior and earlier insistence that walkers are just like people made Carol and Tyreese think twice about keeping her as part of their group. Ty told Carol that he found Lizzie’s rats and thought that she was the one who killed Karen, but Carol knows the truth.
Both Carol and Tyreese know that Lizzie needs to go because she’s not stable enough to be around people after what she did to Mika. Tyreese and Judith stay in the house while Carol takes Lizzie outside. She tells her to look at the flowers and then shoots her in cold blood.
In the episode’s final moments, Carol confesses that she was the one who killed Karen and slides Tyreese a gun so he can enact his revenge. Thankfully Tyreese doesn’t kill Carol. Instead, he forgives her but tells her he will never forget what she did.
We told you, this episode was pretty shocking. Are you disturbed by what went down tonight? Weigh in below.
