Pretty Little Liars Season 4, Episode 17 Sneak Peek: Maggie Returns — Without Malcolm (VIDEO)

Maggie (Larisa Oleynik), the mother of not-Ezra’s child, is back in next week’s all new episode of Pretty Little Liars, and in this sneak peek for Season 4, Episode 17 (“Bite Your Tongue”), she’s delivering some bad news to Ezra (Ian Harding). What’s the paternity-fibber got to say this time?

In the scene, Maggie is visiting from Seattle and stops by Ezra’s classroom to grab a set of keys to her old Rosewood apartment from him. According to her, “The landlord’s being a jerk because I broke the lease. He’s withholding my deposit until I give back all the keys.” Whatever, Mags.

Ezra doesn’t really care about the keys. He wants to see Malcolm: “Maybe I could pick up Malcolm early while you deal with the landlord?” This turns out to be an extremely awkward offer, as Maggie informs Ezra that she didn’t bring Malcolm with her — he’s still “home” in Seattle.

“I thought you were bringing him back,” Ezra says, staying considerably less angry than we saw him last episode, pounding on cars. We’re actually impressed that he’s keeping his cool. If we were him, we’d be pissed every time we saw Maggie’s face.

“I changed my mind,” Maggie informs Ezra. “I’m just here to deal with the lease and ship back some boxes I left in storage.” Subtext: You’re one more thing I’m here to “deal with.”

Ezra reads between Maggie’s passive aggressive lines: “So, what are you saying, Maggie? That I’m not going to have a connection to Malcolm unless it’s through an attorney?” he asks. Before he can answer, Aria makes her presence known at the door. She’s awkwardly walked into this uber-tense convo.

She delivers the classic awkward interruption phrase: “Oh, I’ll just come back later.”

There’s a lot to grab onto in this 30-second vid. When Ezra told Aria last week that he was in talks with Maggie and her lawyer about Malcolm, we weren’t really sure if we believed him — but it seems to be true. And we know we’re supposed to be totally and completely creeped out by Ezra right now, but we can’t help but feel bad for him in this scene. Just us?
