Game of Thrones Season 4, Episode 9, "The Watchers on the Wall" is almost here, and HBO has just released a set of promo photos for the episode. Not surprisingly, all of the photos deal with the impending battle at the Wall between Mance Rayder’s Wildlings and the Night’s Watch, but let’s go through just what they reveal.
Jon Snow takes charge. One photo shows a very “in-command” Jon Snow, as he appears to be standing in the Wall’s gate yelling orders while the wind swirls his hair majestically.
Jon Snow fights. We also see Jon wielding Longclaw as he takes on a Thenn. There are others fighting in the background, as well as fires burning and several dead bodies. The Thenn in the photo only kind of looks like Styr, but HBO's cpation says it's him, so we’re guessing this is going to be an epic fight.
Jon and Sam look desperate. In what could be the calm before the storm, Jon and Sam look worried but not yet battle-worn. It could be they’ve just seen Mance Rayder light “the biggest fire the North has ever seen!”
Ygritte’s bow gets some use. Ygritte takes aim with her deadly bow and arrow, presumably at Castle Black. Let’s just hope she’s not aiming at Jon!
Jon Snow poses triumphantly. If you’re not a fan of Jon Snow, this episode may not be for you as it takes place entirely at the Wall. Jon is once again seen here in the gate at the Wall, looking fairly pleased with himself. Maybe they listened to him after all and sealed the gate.
