The Walking Dead Season 4 Finale: “Glenn Dies” But There’s a Catch!

Apparently American Idol host Ryan Seacrest knows something about this Sunday’s Season 4 finale of The Walking Dead that we don’t. Ryan chatted with Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) when the British actor phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest earlier this week and right off the bat he turned the topic of conversation to death in the March 30 Season 4 finale.

“Someone must die,” Ryan declared. Andy agreed, noting, “Yeah it’s a pretty safe bet actually, Ryan.”

Ryan then went on to describe a recent run in he had with TWD producer Greg Nicotero at a Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles. Apparently Greg had a few too many “margies,” as Ryan calls them, and started spewing some serious finale spoilers. “He told me that Glenn dies,” Ryan convincingly recounted.

Andy let out a hearty laugh and played along with Ryan’s tale. “He is good, man. He is really good. He’ll tell anyone that. It changes night by night and with what drink he’s drinking as well,” Andy dished before making a “confession” of his own. “OK, Glenn dies. I’m gonna see him [Greg] tonight and I’ll tell him that he dies.”

Ryan and Andy then went on to talk about Rick’s Southern accent, but what came out after the interview really sent us for a loop. Once Andy hung up the phone Ryan made a startling confession at the urging of his co-host. “I’ve never met Greg, I don’t know Greg at all,” he revealed to listeners.

Say what?! We can’t believe Ryan let that whole charade go on without telling Andy the truth! Still, we admit that the entire exchange was pretty funny. And how’s this for a silver lining: Based on Andy’s reaction we feel pretty confident that Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) won’t actually die in this Sunday’s finale.

Take a listen to Ryan’s interview with Andy below and tell us what you think of their humorous exchange!

The Walking Dead Season 4 finale airs Sunday, March 30, at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
