Pretty Little Liars knows a thing or two about epic finales, and Season 4, Episode 24 (“‘A’ Is for Answers”) promises to be its most ambitious finale yet. After four seasons, we’ll finally know what really went down the night Ali disappeared, and it’s going to be “dynamite.”
“I think it’s a pretty dynamite episode because of the answers involved,” Pretty Little Liars executive producer Oliver Goldstick told Wetpaint Entertainment at the 2014 Pretty Little Liars PaleyFest panel on Sunday in Los Angeles. “I think it’s very satisfying because you’ve waited a long time to know what the hell happened to that girl.”
“There’s too many things, there’s too many people,” he added. “Mrs. Grunwald pulled her from a grave. What happened this night?”
We’ve tried to piece together that fateful night multiple times, but obviously, there are gaps of information that only Ali can answer. So we’re excited to see what happens when Ali tells all. As for that dramatic last scene with the Liars on the roof? It looks like the Liars and Ali are finally face-to-face with their masked stalker, but don’t get too excited PLL fans, executive producer Marlene King told Wetpaint, “We might find out who “A” is — I don’t want fans to get overly excited about that.” She added: “I do think that they will be very happy with the amount of answers that they receive.”
But something dangerous does go down on that roof, and someone lands themselves in “serious danger.” Thankfully, it sounds like whoever gets injured will make a speedy recovery.
“Someone will be injured, yes — but breathing,” said Marlene. “That will make more sense to you [on] Tuesday at 9 o’clock.”
We’ve speculated on who we think might wind up in the hospital in the Season 5 premiere, and we’re pretty convinced that it’s either Ezra or Ali. Ezra sacrificing himself to save the Liars would give him the perfect redemption arc, while Ali getting seriously injured would result in her secret coming out. If Ali is going to have her homecoming in Season 5, then something must happen to make her come out of hiding, and a trip to the hospital would do the trick.
What do you think, readers? Who will be injured in the finale? Sound off in the comments!
