In case you haven’t heard, HBO has released their end of the year promo video, and it features a tantalizing five seconds of footage from Game of Thrones Season 4. What does it show in those five seconds? Not a ton, obviously, but we can make some pretty good guesses as to what’s going on based on the book series u GoT is based on, A Song of Ice and Fire.

Essos charger. The first thing we see is a lone man on a horse holding a lance and charging toward a massive wall guarded by what looks like an army. The desert setting leads us to believe that this is somewhere in Essos, and therefore, it’s likely part of Dany’s storyline. We think it’s Dany’s arrival at the city of Mereen, where she is greeted by a fighter seeking a challenger from her army. In the book, it’s Strong Belwas who charges towards Mereen and defeats the fighter, but since he’s not in the show (and the guy on the horse is too skinny to be Belwas even if he were), it’s probably either Daario, Grey Worm, or Jorah Mormont.
Tyrion in chains. Tyrion is being marched down an aisle by soldiers while in shackles, which we can say pretty confidently is a part of his trial for the murder of Joffrey. Tyrion’s trial will likely be a big part of Season 4, so we’re not too surprised they included a taste of it here.
Joffrey viewing some entertainment. We briefly see Joffrey sitting while someone juggles fire in the background and a bunch of people mingle about. Our guess is this is part of his spectacular and grandiose royal wedding, which we are anticipating very much.
Jaime reading. A cleaned up and spiffy-looking Jaime Lannister is flipping through the pages of a mammoth tome, and while it looks big enough to be an installment of A Song of Ice and Fire, it is likely research for his new gig as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. If this is the scene we think it is, the book Jaime is looking through contains info about everyone who’s ever been in the Kingsguard, and Jaime's reading it because he wants to be the best Lord Commander he can be.
Sansa in a new place. Finally, we see Sansa in an unfamiliar setting with a look of wonder on her face. Based on the books, she’s going to escape King’s Landing with Littlefinger after Joffrey’s wedding and take on a new identity, so we’re guessing this is the scene where she’s about to board Littlefinger’s boat to the Vale. The only reason we don’t think she’s already in the Vale in the scene is because she’s still sporting her red hair, and, at least in the books, part of her fake identity requires Littlefinger to dye her hair brown.
