Game of Thrones Season 4: More “Mind-Blowing” Work From Peter Dinklage
Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) has in many ways always been the biggest star on Game of Thrones. He’s the only main member of the cast to win an Emmy for his work on the show, and he seems to have stepped up his game even more this season.
First there was his heart-wrenching dismissal of his love, Shae. Then there was the uncomfortable spectacle of Joffrey’s wedding. His performance during Tyrion’s trial made us feel emotions we didn’t even know we had, and his three subsequent, completely different interactions with Jaime, Bronn, and Oberyn afterwards left our jaws agape. But according to Game of Thrones director Alex Graves, we may not have seen Peter’s best work yet.
“[Peter] Dinklage has stuff coming up that's mind-blowing!” Alex tells International Business Times. What could Tyrion possibly have left to do this season that will astound us more than what he’s already done?! Since his trial by combat takes place in Season 4, Episode 8, “The Mountain and the Viper,” we’re guessing it starts there. Whether Oberyn wins and Tyrion is found innocent, or the Mountain wins and Tyrion is sentenced to die, we’re guessing the results won’t be so clear-cut for our favorite Lannister. We look forward to what Dinklage has in store for us... and we suspect the Emmys do, too.
