It’s that time of year again. Game of Thrones has submitted its official Emmy nominee hopefuls for Season 4, and it’s an impressive lineup.
The rundown comes courtesy of Winter is Coming, and includes some big names.
For the Best Supporting Actor in a Drama category — the show never submits anyone as lead — GoT has chosen Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), and previous winner Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister). Looks like the Lannister family sure can act!
On the Best Supporting Actress side of things, the Starks get some love with Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) both making the cut, along with Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), and last year’s nominee Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen).
For Best Guest Actor in a Drama, Pedro Pascal is in the mix for his rousing portrayal of Oberyn Martell, while last year’s nominee Diana Rigg (Olenna Tyrell) once again has her name in the mix for Best Guest Actress for her character’s murderous turn in Season 4.
In addition to the actors, the show is also up for consideration for Best Drama (duh), Best Writing for a Drama for the yet-to-be-aired season finale, “The Children,” and Outstanding Directing for a Drama for Neil Marshall’s “The Watchers on the Wall,” Alex Graves’ “The Children”, and Alik Sakharov’s “The Laws of Gods and Men.”
There are also a number of technical awards the show is hoping to be nominated for, and you can check out the complete list here. Best of luck, GoT!
