The Walking Dead Season 4: Prepare to “Get Into Beth’s Head”

It’s not easy being Greene!

Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) has mostly been seen singing and caring for baby Judith, but think about her journey on The Walking Dead. She saw her walker mom get shot at the barn in Season 2, wanted to kill herself, lost her boyfriend Jimmy, later lost her boyfriend Zach, saw her father Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson) get his head chopped off, and is now separated from her only living relative, sister Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan), in the second half of Season 4.

At least she now has Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). Beth and Daryl ran out of the prison together in the midseason finale and they are now on the road. The promos for the next eight episodes have heavily featured Beth, so we know she has some major work coming up.

“The second part of Season 4 is even crazier, and you really get into Beth’s head more,” Emily told the SF Examiner. “I mean, it really is such a strange world for her to be growing up in!” Yep. Just ask Carl, Lizzie, Mika, and Judith.

We know there will be a Daryl-centric episode coming up, but maybe Beth gets something similar too. It’s about time we learned more about her, to see how she’s changed and adapted to this world. Is she going to further harden her heart or will she perhaps take her father’s place as the new moral compass? We’ll find out.

The Walking Dead Season 4 returns with Episode 9, “After,” on Sunday, February 9 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
