The Walking Dead Season 4: “Passion” Between Sasha and Bob, But What Happens at Terminus? (VIDEO)

We’ve already discussed Beth Greene’s (Emily Kinney) kidnapping in great detail — including how devastating it is for Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) — but we haven’t delved that much into what’s going on between Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan).

From the start of the back half of Season 4, Maggie has made it very clear that her number one goal at this point is to find Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), and in last Sunday’s Episode 13: “Alone” we saw that Maggie didn’t exactly have support for her quest from her fellow travelers. Mainly, Mags wanted to head to Terminus after she saw the sign, but Sasha was totally against it.

In the behind-the-scenes video below, Lauren explains why Maggie decided to ditch her group and go her own way. “Maggie decides to leave Bob and Sasha because up to that point she was somewhat blindly dragging them on her mission,” she says. And as you may have guessed, nothing was going to deter Maggie from finding her man, or vice-versa. Executive producer Tony Luse explains, “This is kind of like Ulysses in a way. Both Glenn and Maggie totally believe that if the other one survives they will look for each other, and that’s what motivates both of them.”

Later in the clip Sonequa explains why Maggie and Sasha aren’t seeing eye-to-eye, noting, “What’s happening thematically is that Maggie is running to hope, and Sasha’s running away from it.”

But while Sasha may be running from hope, she doesn’t exactly turn a blind eye to romance when she lets Bob kiss her. Bob, however, has a slightly different set of priorities “Even though there’s a real passion between them that’s starting to emerge, he recognizes that trying to rejoin with the group is really the only way to go,” producer Dave Alpert points out.

Bob then goes in search for Maggie along the train tracks, while Sasha opts to look for a tall building to camp out in alone, though she soon realizes that was a horrible idea. “As soon as she [heads out on her own] she realizes that it’s a big mistake, and how crazy she’s being. And how weak it really is,” Sonequa says.

In an interesting twist, Sasha is actually the one to spot Maggie, and after they fight off a horde of walkers together the reunite with Bob on the train tracks and head towards Terminus, which is still a mystery to us. “The big unknown of the back half of Season 4 is ‘What is Terminus? What will it be if they actually end up making it there?’ It could be something fantastic, it could be something absolutely terrible. I’d put my money on terrible, but you know what, we like to keep you guessing so you never know,” comic book creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman concluded.

We may not know the nature of Terminus just yet, but we do know that many of our survivors are headed towards it, including Maggie’s main man Glenn who spotted the map in the final seconds of Episode 13.

Given what Robert said about Terminus, are you more wary of it now? Tell us your thoughts and theories below!
