You don't have to wait until October 13 to get your first look at a scene from The Walking Dead Season 4. AMC is kindly showing a sneak peek this Sunday, August 25, sometime between 10 and 11 p.m. ET.
This is clearly a way to promote their new show Low Winter Sun, which airs during that hour and happens to star the amazing Lennie James, who plays Morgan on TWD.
Speaking of Morgan — and we can never say enough good things about the character or the actor — we may see him again … someday. Morgan was the first human Rick (Andrew Lincoln) met when he emerged from the hospital back in Season 1, and Morgan's brief return was a highlight of Season 3. That episode, "Clear," written by new showrunner Scott Gimple, and was widely regarded as one of the best — if not the best — episode of the year, in no small part due to Lennie’s acting.
Lennie — who is really British like Andrew Lincoln, David Morrissey (The Governor), and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) — talked to Access Hollywood about Low Winter Sun, but also briefly about TWD.
The door was left open for Morgan to join Rick's group at some point, so would Lennie be up for a return to the role? “Yeah, sure,” he said. “I’ve had nothing but a good time while I was there and The Walking Dead family and Andrew Lincoln and everybody down there have been really good to me and good for me, so of course I’d go back. ... I have a lovely time there and [if] they keep writing me stuff that’s like [what] they’ve done in the past, then who would turn that down?"
You'd have to be crazy to turn it down! Speaking of crazy, Morgan was a little loco on "Clear," and if you pick up The Walking Dead: The Complete Third Season (out on Blu-Ray and DVD on August 27), there's reportedly an intense deleted scene on there between Rick and Morgan, with Morgan explaining why he's still alive and why he "clears."
What do you think? Should Morgan return to TWD? If so, as a guest star again, or in a series regular role? And don’t forget to tape this Sunday’s special sneak peek!
