AMC is teasing The Walking Dead Season 4 just a few seconds at a time via these super-short promos. That’s not really a bad thing, since it gives us just enough to feed our wild speculation. Why not? We have nothing else to do until Season 4 starts on October 13!
This new 16-second promo features Hershel’s voice-over again, and no one does impending doom like Hershel: "Everything we've been working so hard to keep out just found its way in."
Oooooh. What found its way in? The clip shows lots of walkers herding at the fences, and we know they will be more of a dangerous threat this season than they were in Season 3. However, there's also a trail of blood, as if someone had been dragged to his or her death.
What if that's linked to Hershel's last doom-and-gloom speech from the extended trailer — when he said "We just lost 12 of our own. Two of them were killed in cold blood." That implies that the other 10 weren't killed in cold blood, so maybe they were victims of walker attacks (or that vague new “threat”). But the other two, that suggests there's an actual murderer in the prison. It's very possible we have a serial killer storyline on top of all the zombie issues, the new threat, and The Governor on the loose.
No one said the zombie apocalypse would be a picnic! (Although they do have nice new picnic tables at the prison.)
What's your take on the very last shot? It looks like there's someone in the shadows, slowly walking up a set of stairs. It's a spooky shot, and it could mean anything. Hopefully it doesn't mean anything too bad, but we’re poised for some serious carnage. No one is safe!
