The Walking Dead Season 4 Spoilers: Were Karen and David Burned By the Same Person Feeding the Walkers?
There’s something strange going on inside the prison on The Walking Dead, and we’re not just talking about the deadly flu that has already claimed the lives of many people on Team Prison. If you haven’t watched Season 4, Episode 2: “Infected” yet, then we suggest you stop reading now. For those of you that did watch, you know that Tyreese (Chad Coleman) found his girlfriend, Karen, burnt to a crisp outside the prison’s walls. Also barbecued was David, another resident who, like Karen, was infected with this flu.
We still don’t know who burned their bodies, but is it possible that this person is the same individual who is also feeding rats to the walkers? When The Hollywood Reporterposed this question to showrunner Scott Gimple, he said, “Totally possible. Maybe, maybe not! It's a totally lame answer but I will tell you this, it will be answered sooner rather than later.”
We’re glad we’ll find out the identity of this traitor soon, but we want to know now!
Many have speculated that Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.) is behind this strange sabotage since we know so little about him, but Scott wasn’t about to confirm or deny those rumors, noting, “There's a lot of speculation online with that, and I shall not comment! But I will say that Bob does have a lot going on under the surface.”
Between the flu, the burnings, whoever is feeding the walkers, we can’t help but wonder if Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and co. will soon be leaving the prison because it is clearly no longer safe.
When THR posed this question to Scott, he was pretty cryptic in his answer. “We've shown from the beginning that they have to do this regular maintenance on those fences — meaning taking out walkers at fences. They're a little busy right now and they're not at full strength and they need to be.” And as if Team Prison didn’t have enough going on already, Scott revealed that things are about to get even worse for them. Yikes! “They have a big problem coming up,” he continued. “We've talked about different locations this season, so who knows what can happen. Who knows, maybe they'll pull it off and maybe that requires another location. Maybe other locations come from them not pulling it off. It comes to a head sooner than later.”
Since plenty of things are happening “sooner than later”, we’re especially psyched for Episode 3: “Isolation”, which is scheduled to air on October 27. Do you think Team Prison will be on the move next week? Will we find out who is feeding the walkers and who burned Karen and David? Weigh in below!
The Walking Dead Season 4, Episode 3: “Infected”, airs on Sunday, October 27 at 9 p.m. ET.
