On the official Game of Thrones production diary, Making Game of Thrones, behind the scenes writer Cat Taylor writes that the set of Craster’s Keep, the shack beyond the Wall where last season’s Night’s Watch mutiny took place, is being featured in some night time filming for Season 4. We’re surprised, because in A Song of Ice and Fire, the series of novels upon which Game of Thrones is based, Craster’s Keep makes exactly zero appearances following the mutiny.
So what could be going on at Craster’s in Season 4? The most likely answer is a follow-up on the aftermath of the Night’s Watch mutiny, i.e. who survived. However, the lack of principal characters involved (Craster and Jeor Mormont are dead, and Sam escaped) suggests that maybe the show is inventing an entirely new scene to take place at the cabin.
One possibility could feature Bran and company paying a visit to the cabin, since he is the only main character wandering around beyond the Wall. Also, Bran’s storyline has progressed much more quickly in relationship to the books than the GoT’s other characters, so the show is going to have to invent some more things for him to do before he runs out of story from the books.
Whatever’s going on at Craster’s, we can’t wait to see it. Spring needs to come soon!
