Today is Halloween. The Walking Dead Season 4 will air Episode 4, "Indifference," this Sunday, November 3. But filming-wise, they are way ahead of the game.
Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) said they finished filming the mid-season finale (Episode 8) back in August. There are 16 episodes to the season, with the back half starting in February 2014 beginning with with Episode 9, and they must be pretty far along by now — at least into the double digits.
We're always worried about our favorite characters, so when cast members tweet about filming, we read into it — assuming that means their characters are alive and kicking. (It could mean flashbacks, but … hopefully it doesn’t.)
On October 30, Norman tweeted, "Love u guys. Filming now. This season kicks so much ass !" A fan also took some shots of him filming on October 29. So it’s pretty safe to assume Daryl makes it well into the back half of the season.
Who else might be alive? Spoil the Dead posted a few photos, including a pic a fan took with Chad Coleman (Tyreese) on September 26, and another fan pic with Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) on September 28. (Andy also did an interview saying Episode 9 was a good one for Chandler Riggs’s Carl Grimes, which suggests Carl survives into 2014 too.)
An October 21 photo seemed to show actresses Brighton Sharbino and Kyla Kenedy on set, which suggests further stories for Lizzie and Mika Samuels. There's also a blurry set shot from October 24 that supposedly shows Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) in action.
The pics don’t necessarily mean these characters are still going strong, and it certainly doesn’t mean they are the only ones. But it’s something to give us hope — especially for Sasha and Lizzie, who were last seen coughing their ways into the sick ward on Episode 3.
