G.I. Ygritte. The wildling troops with whom Ygritte is running around south of the Wall are making their way to Castle Black where they’re planning an attack on Jon Snow and the depleted Night’s Watch. The question is: Does Ygritte have it in her to attack her old flame in his weakened state?
Hell yes, she does!
Are you kidding? This is Ygritte we’re talking about; the girl is not the sentimental type. She storms the castle with the rest of her free folk pals and starts launching arrows and taking names and just being an overall badass. At one point, though, the tide in the battle begins to turn as the men of the Night’s Watch prove to be tougher opponents than they first seemed...
OK, she gets a little sentimental. After the battle is over, Jon Snow searches the battlefield for Ygritte, hoping that one of his arrows didn’t find her. His didn’t, but someone’s did, and he finds Ygritte at death’s door. He cradles her in his arms and she asks if Castle Black is a real castle, because she really wanted to see one before she died. He says that it is, but that she won’t die. Her final words: “You know nothing, Jon Snow.” Good lord, buy stock in Kleenex now, people — this is going to be a rough one.
