The Walking Dead Season 4: Is Team Prison Being Led to Terminus?

One by one, various factions of the former Team Prison on The Walking Dead have found the Terminus sign and made their way to this supposed sanctuary. First, Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Tyreese (Chad Coleman), Lizzie (Brighton Sharbino), Mika (Kyla Kenedy) and baby Judith saw the sign; and Michonne (Danai Gurira), Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), and Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) weren’t far behind them.

In Season 4, Episode 13: “Alone” Bob Stookey (Larry Gilliard Jr.), Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green), and Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) agreed to head that way after some debate; and in the final moments of the ep we saw Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) and his group stumble upon the map as well, just as Maggie had hoped.

We know our group was all scattered from a central location — the prison — but have you ever wondered if someone or something could be leading them to Terminus as part of a larger plan?

The Hollywood Reporter interviewed Lauren Cohan and she put forth an interesting Terminus theory. “This moment when Glenn sees the Terminus sign and the hope in that moment reminded me of Season 1, when he's the little voice that Rick hears in the tank. If Glenn sees or hears something, there's something to it because he's the character who looks after people. That for me gives that inkling that maybe Terminus is going to be OK and the fact that all the group is finding these signs. Is there somebody looking out for them? Is someone making sure that they all find each other? Maybe it's the spirit of Hershel; I don't know, but it would be nice.”

Aww, it would be nice to think that Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson) is watching over everyone from above, especially since the world is only getting more cruel and dangerous by the day. Lauren talked briefly about trusting Terminus above, but elaborated on that in an earlier answer, noting that it’s appropriate to be wary of it given everything our group has been through, but we shouldn’t automatically assume it’s bad news.

She explains, “We should always be concerned that anything that sounds too good to be true probably is. This is way too big for any of us to ignore that train tracks leading to something that could be a sanctuary. We have no way of communicating with each other but we have signs at every single train track to head in one direction, so at least we can all be together and trust what ever telekinetic connection we have, then maybe we'll figure it out when we get there. I don't know that Terminus is going to be a bad idea; none of us should assume that.”

Do you think that we should assume that some other force or connection is bringing Team Prison to Terminus, or are the signs to thank? Tell us your thoughts and theories in the comments below!

The Walking Dead Season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
