Pretty Little Liars Season 4B Spoilers: Major Ezra Flashbacks Ahead

We’re not sure how Pretty Little Liars is going to unravel the mystery surrounding Ezra (Ian Harding) and his apparent “A” status, but we do know it will be a major theme in Season 4B. What did PLL showrunner Marlene King tell Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming half-season and the Ezra plot?

There. Will. Be. Flashbacks. They’ll apparently be spurred by whatever Hanna stuffed into her bag (it looked like a notebook) at “A”’s lair in the summer finale: “That something is revealed in the 4B premiere, and that becomes a great vehicle for the girls to find out more answers about Uber “A” and Alison,” Marlene told Entertainment Weekly. Why did Hanna grab that notebook? And why did she hide it in her bag rather than show the other Liars? Is there something in it that will point to Ezra?

Do flashbacks mean Ezra will be spilling to one of the Liars, or will this be more of a solo reminiscing adventure? Previously, flashbacks were only used in relation to the Liars (i.e. either one of their memories or a memory someone is recounting to them), but since Toby got his own private flashback in Season 4, it seems like anything goes. We’re just looking forward to the flashbacks to Ezra’s confused past as a turtle-necked poet.

The site also asked Marlene about the possibility of Ezra just being another minion in the “A” chain of command — aka if he doing someone else’s dirty work. Marlene would neither deny nor confirm that theory, saying, “You will have to see!” Whatever Ezra’s level of involvement, he’s got some ‘splainin’ to do.

Are you eager for the Ezra flashbacks? Do you think he will be relaying a memory to one of the Liars? Sound off in the comments below!
