The Walking Dead Season 5 Set Spoilers: Alexandria Safe-Zone Is Lookin’ Good! (PHOTOS)

A whole new world is being built as we speak in Senoia, Georgia. There’s a wall going up around some houses, and it’s meant to be used for filming in the second half of The Walking Dead Season 5. That will air in early 2015 — but the wall and the stuff behind it may be filmed until as late as 2019.

This is meant to be the TV version of the Alexandria Safe-Zone, a walled community in Alexandria, Virginia that Rick Grimes and company enter when they get near Washington, D.C. in the Walking Dead comic books. They are still there in the comic story, about 50 issues later. This is home.

We first heard about this wall going up around some brownstones in Senoia back in early July, thanks to pics from The Spoiling Dead Fans. Their trusty members returned with more pics, some showing what looks like a version of the bell tower being built. If only Andrea were still alive to shoot stuff! (Do you think Michonne might take on her role, or maybe Sasha — who is said to be a good shot, like Andrea was in the books? Maybe Michonne will take on ... other aspects of Andrea's comic book role, when it comes to Rick.)

Check out recent photos of the construction, and prepare to see a lot of this place once it’s finished:

What do you think? Are you getting excited to see the Safe-Zone, with all of the new people and experiences? Do you think they’ll keep Carl’s storyline pretty close to the books? (You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.)

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres Sunday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
