The Walking Dead Season 5: AMC May Do Special Cast Event in October? (UPDATE)

UPDATE: Never mind! Chandler was apparently confused by a different event happening the week before in New York. He deleted the AMC comment in his chat. No worries for Walker Stalker Atlanta fans. Everyone who is set to attend is still set to attend, and more people will be added to the guest list.

Original story:

Fans are anxiously awaiting the return of The Walking Dead in October. No official Season 5 premiere date has been announced, but Sunday, October 12 has a nice ring to it. (Just pick a Sunday that month and clear it.) The cast will be promoting the return of the series with at least one big event Atlanta — where the AMC show is filmed — and perhaps more than one.

Walker Stalker Con Atlanta is happening from October 17–19. So far, these TWD stars are listed as guests: Emily Kinney (Beth), Laurie Holden (Andrea), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham), Lawrence Gilliard Jr. (Bob), David Morrissey (The Governor), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Lew Temple (Axel), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Jose Pablo Cantillo (Martinez), Alanna Masterson (Tara), Scott Wilson (Hershel), IronE Singleton (T-Dog), Madison Lintz (Sophia), and Daniel Thomas May (Allen).

It’s a great lineup so far! A lot of the currently filming TWD stars are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday of that weekend, but Chandler Riggs’s days are listed as “to be determined.”

When not filming scenes for Season 5, Chandler has been keeping up with fans via his chats. One fan recently asked, “I'm thinking about buying a David Morrissey VIP ticket to Walker Stalker Atlanta so I could meet you, David, and the rest of the Walking Dead crew in October!! You guys are all AWESOME! You think I should do it?!‎” Chandler replied, “amc is thinking of doing an event that the cast has to go to on the same weekend so id hold off until that event is announced or falls through.”

Interesting. It may not come together, as he says, but if they go through with it, would it jeopardize the Season 5 cast’s commitments at Walker Stalker Atlanta? Hopefully the cast could attend both events — and if the AMC one does happen, hopefully it would be open to fans so they could meet even more of the actors, and possibly producers and crew members.

If you can’t make it to Atlanta, maybe check out these other upcoming cast events that may be closer to you. FYI, Norman Reedus (Daryl) had to cancel his appearance at Walker Stalker Boston in June. But hopefully he’s still on board with everything else.

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
