The Walking Dead Season 5 Filming Spoilers: Beth, Carol Rescue in Midseason Finale?

UPDATE: The Walking Dead Season 5, Episode 4 showed Carol at the hospital with Beth. "Slabtown" also showed Noah escape, and fans are pretty sure he's the one who connected with Daryl at the church. So the wheels are in motion for this potential rescue mission, as filming spoilers suggested over the summer...

Original story (August 5):

Imagine if you called 911 and The Walking Dead's Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and the whole team showed up to help. That would be pretty amazing. Our minds are in rescue mode because Season 5 seems to be shooting its big mid-season finale, and The Spoiling Dead Fans said they are filming today (August 5) at the hospital location — which may be where both Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) were taken.

That hospital seems to be where Beth went, courtesy of the car with the cross on it from Season 4. We got a glimpse of the place in the Comic-Con trailer, and back in June both Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus were spotted on the hospital set. Emily Kinney was also seen on the hospital set a bit later, with that bandaged arm you can see in the trailer.

You may also remember the filming spoiler in early July about Carol being hit by a car with a cross on it: "Spectators say that after Carol was hit, two individuals dressed as cops came out of the vehicle. After seeing them, Carol faints and is loaded into the vehicle on a cot. [...] We know MMB arrived back from the scene with what looked like rope burns on her wrists and her stunt double arrived back about an hour later looking 'pretty damn rough.' Could this be related to the vehicle with a cross we reported on about a month ago and the car chase with Norman & Melissa?"

Hmm. Putting the pieces together, many fans have speculated that Carol was taken to the same hospital place as Beth, for whatever they are doing there. (Cure experimentation? Other?) Or maybe Carol ends up tied up like the guys at Terminus?

Andy was recently seen filming in an Atlanta police car, which could tie into the cop who talks to Beth in the trailer, and the cops who load Carol into the car. Maybe he poses as one of the cops to get inside and help save both women?

Today TSDF said they are filming at Old Newnan Hospital in Newnan, GA, and “Simulated gunfire is expected.” The day before, they wrote about filming at the top of a parking garage in Atlanta, with Daryl Dixon and Sasha aiming guns below. (See pics of them here.)

The site also added, the same day, “Andrew/Rick, Norman/Daryl and Chad/Tyreese are all on location. Sonequa/Sasha and Lawrence/Bob may have been spotted also.” Steven/Glenn was also seen. That would be the first Bob sighting in a while, if true, but it’s good to see brother/sister team Tyreese and Sasha in the same group.

Yesterday, the site also shared photos of Rick and Daryl on set, and in one pic you can see a woman dressed as a cop. These are just puzzle pieces, but fans are starting to share some interesting (and valid) theories about what it all might mean. Do they know, by this point, that the crosses are connected to the hospital? Do they know Beth and Carol are both in there (if they are), or just one of them and they happen to find the other there too? Where are the other members of the group — are some of them also in the hospital, or staying somewhere else? (Lauren/Maggie should be with this group, unless she's also hostage somewhere, or just not noticed on set for filming. You always have to consider that some actors may just not be spotted by fans.)

Will they reunite later, when it’s time to head to this place? In the trailer, Sasha and Rick can both be heard talking about their "people." They wanted to find them, and wouldn't leave for D.C. without them. It would be cool for Rick and company to help save Carol if she does indeed play a role in helping to save them from Terminus in the premiere. That could be a nice natural end to that story arc.

Do you think fans' rescue mission theory will pan out? Is it close? Way off?

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres Sunday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
