Right now, the Liars are super freaked out about Mona’s motivations and plan. She knows that they’re lying about Ali’s two-year absence and she has openly declared war on the former mean girl. As you can see in this sneak peek for Tuesday’s episode, Aria especially thinks that Mona is out to get them. We think it’s likely that Spencer is hanging with Andrew as a way to find out what Mona is up to. Though Andrew might not be Mona’s bestie, he is on the academic decathlon team with her, and seems to have a better idea of what’s going on in the student body than Spencer does, who always has her head in the “A” game.
To Get some Much-Needed Studying In
Being part of the “A” game is like a full-time job. It doesn’t leave much time for schoolwork, and we’re afraid Spencer has neglected her G.P.A. in favor of fighting for her life. Fair enough, but now that “A” is (maybe) gone, will Spencer be devoting more time to getting her academics back in top form? If so, Andrew is probably the best study partner she could ask for. He’s almost as clever as she is, but spends a lot more of his focus on school. If Spencer wants to find out if she missed anything, Andrew is her man.
To Hang Out as Friends
Can’t these two pals just hang out? After the craziness that has been the past few years, the Liars must sometimes be desperate to hang out with someone who doesn’t know anything about the “A” game or the hell they’ve been through. Someone less complicated, who can maybe help them forget all of the insAnity for a little while. Andrew could be that friend for Spencer. They’ve known each other a long time. He’s been there for her in tough times, and has seen her at her worst. But he is not a part of the “A” world (that we know of). There’s something attractive about that.
