Vampire Diaries Season 5, Episode 12 Sneak Peek Roundup: Will Katherine Succeed?
We know Katherine Pierce is manipulative and conniving, but she’s taking her evil ways to a whole new level on The Vampire DiariesSeason 5, Episode 12 (“The Devil Inside”). It turns out becoming a passenger inside Elena’s body was only the first step in Katherine’s evil little plan. Next on her list is getting rid of Elena… forever. Yikes! Things can never be easy for these doppelgangers, can they?
Let’s take a look at the sneak peeks from “The Devil Inside” and see what clues we can decipher. In this first clip, Nadia goes to the Salvatore mansion to retrieve her mother’s “dead” body, but she’s met with an unfortunate reality — Damon has already buried it!
“Katherine’s rotting corpse was stinking up the house, I got rid of it,” he says. “Could be a bit of a problem,” Stefan responds, prompting Damon to ask for an explanation. Stefan doesn’t have to say anything, he just nods his head in the direction of a rather determined-looking Nadia.
“Because I’m here for Katherine’s body,” she retorts. Alas, Damon isn’t going to give up the body that easily, and Nadia seems super ticked off about it. “My mother asked to be buried with her family in Bulgaria,” Nadia says. “And nothing gives me greater joy than to deny her dying wish,” Damon responds. Uh-oh. It sounds like things are going to get heated between Damon and Nadia, and if we didn’t already know what Nadia was scheming, we’d feel kinda bad for her.
We’re assuming Nadia needs Katherine’s body to complete the Traveler’s spell. Once all the pieces are in place, they’ll do the spell, and Elena will be gone for good.
Meanwhile, Tyler is on a mission to win Caroline back. In this next sneak peek, we see Tyler and Matt back together again, getting ready for the big party Matt is throwing at Lockwood Manor (which, according to the synopsis, is a reaction to “awkward and confusing conversations with Nadia”). Basically, the boys are loading an impressive number of kegs off of Matt’s truck.
“You still own my house,” Tyler reminds Matt, “[which] means you have to invite certain people in tonight. People like Elena, Stefan…” Matt sees through Tyler’s question: “Is that’s your lame way of asking if I invited Caroline?” When Tyler admits that it is, Matt lays the truth on him: “Yeah, she’s coming. So, when you say you’re starting over, you’re basically saying you want Caroline back.”
Tyler looks sheepish and distracts himself with party planning logistics — “Just get the cups, OK?” — but us and Matt can read through the lines: Tyler still loves Caroline and totally wants her back. We wonder if that goal will change once he finds out about the steamy Klaroline hookup in last week’s episode. After all, Caroline knows how much he loathes the Original hybrid, who — amongst other misdeeds — killed his mother.
