Glee Season 5, Episode 13 “New Directions” Best and Worst Songs — Do You Agree?
Glee manages to pack an insane number of songs into each episode, which means there will always be a few standouts, along with the inevitable dud or two. We've narrowed all six of the performances from Season 5, Episode 13: "New Directions," down to the very best and the coulda-done-without. Do you agree with our picks?
Best Performance of the Night: “Don't Stop Believin'" by Everyone
Perhaps the biggest musical surprise of the night for us was how amazing "Loser Like Me" sounded as a ballad. But it's just impossible for us to not name the incredibly emotional "Don't Stop Believin'" performance as the night's best. The vocals are excellent, and it's just so touching to see everyone joining up to say goodbye to Schue. Talk about wanting to hold on to that feeling.
Worst Performance of the Night: "Party All the Time" by Holly
The nicest thing we can say about this performance is that it's unquestionably an improvement on the 1985 original by Eddie Murphy. (No offense, Eddie.) And while this performance is a fun one, it was kind of forgettable, and it certainly doesn't rank among Holly's better tunes. Plus, the whole thing made no sense. Like, why were McKinley's graduates suddenly in the Animal Husbandry club? And why did everyone take a field trip to a sketchy, foam-filled club? The world may never know.
