But when Tina’s fierce attitude alienates her biggest supporters (aka the Glee club), she’s in for a rude awakening. (Is it just us or does Tina always need an attitude check?)
Meanwhile, back in New York, Rachel adjusts to a new attitude of her own as she and Santana work at a Broadway diner to make ends meet. However, things start looking up for Santana when she meets fellow waitress Dani (guest star Demi Lovato) and sparks fly.
If you’re like us, then you probably have so many questions about the second episode of Season 5, but luckily for you, Wetpaint Entertainment has collected enough spoilers and juicy tidbits from the cast — and boss man Ryan Murphy! — to help us paint a pretty picture of what’s to come.
From new characters to Carrie references and Beatlemania, here’s your complete guide to “Tina in the Sky With Diamonds."
Tina gets Carrie’d away. Oh, Tina. Poor, poor Tina. What did Jenna Ushkowitz do to Ryan Murphy to be one of the most neglected characters on Glee? Sure, this episode may be Tina-centric, as she is inevitably crowned Prom Queen, but before Tina can pull off her Taylor Swift-inspired surprise face, the moment is ruined by a slushie to the face. Yes, it’s a much tamer version of the iconic scene from Carrie, but it’s still not going to be pretty. (Did we mention her Prom King is reportedly Stoner Brett? Yikes!)
Beatlemania continues! Part 2 ofGlee’sepic Beatles tribute features even more amazing covers! And in case you didn’t know, the episode’s title, “Tina in the Sky With Diamonds,” is taken from the classic Beatles track, “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds.” Here’s the official tracklist for the episode:
“Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,” performed by Ryder, Marley, Jake and Unique — listen here!
“Let it Be,” performed by Rachel, Santana, Kurt, Tina and Artie — listen here!
“Hey Jude,” performed by Blaine, Sam, Tina & Kitty — listen here!
Enter Dani (aka Demi Lovato!). In order to pay the bills (how exactly do Rachel, Santana, and Kurt afford that spacey Bushwick loft?), Rachel and Santana are still hard at work at that diner on Broadway. If Rachel can’t be on Broadway, working at a diner on the famous street is the next best thing, right? There, they meet Dani, a struggling artist who instantly grabs Santana’s attention. Not only is this singing waitress gorgeous, but she can play the guitar and has a killer set of pipes. Santana and Dani even share their first duet in the episode – covering “Here Comes the Sun.” And it's even followed by a kiss. We’re already swooning. Could this be the next “Teenage Dream” moment?
