Walking Dead Season 5 Spoilers: Episode 4, 10 Casting Calls — For Beth, Alexandria Storylines?

When the titles and brief synopses came out for The Walking Dead Season 5 Episodes 1-4, fans looked at Episode 4, "Slabtown," as a potential "bottle episode" for Beth Greene (Emily Kinney). More weight just got added to that theory, thanks to casting calls leaked to Spoil the Dead.

It sounds like that’s the episode where the female cop seen in the Comic-Con trailer will make her debut. Spoil the Dead also shared a casting call for Episode 10, in the second half of the 16-episode season, and fans think that could be a hint to the TV version of Aaron, a character in the Walking Dead comic books who is a recruiter for the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Filming spoilers suggest we will see the Safe-Zone in the second half, so that would fit with spoilers, even if it’s still just a guess for now.

Here are the Episode 4 casting call details, which may refer to male and female cops, plus the woman being held down on the table by Beth. It looks like the first two characters may be around for three episodes — Ep 4, plus Episode 7 and the midseason finale, Episode 8. (Don't get too attached to the names, you never know when they might be changed on TV.)

[VIVIAN BISHOP] Mid – late 30s. Any ethnicity. A formidable woman. She is stern, focused and intensely pragmatic, but has a tendency to crack under pressure and lash out violently. Though she presents a stoic facade, she has a softer side that she feels the need to suppress in order to be an effective leader. She is charismatic with a vibrant energy…RECURRING GUEST STAR / Approximate dates: (6/10 – 6/19), (7/15 – 7/28), (7/29 – 8/8)

[MICHAEL ALEXANDER] Late 30s – mid 40s. Any ethnicity. A casual, charming intellectual. He's as quick with a witty remark as he is with a snide comment. Despite his intelligence and amiable facade, he suffers from an innate insecurity that makes him weak and self-serving…RECURRING GUEST STAR / Approximate dates: (6/10 – 6/19), (7/15 – 7/28), (7/29 – 8/8)

[AMBER] 20s. Any ethnicity. A fierce spirit despite being petite of stature. She is defiant, independent, easily worked up. It's clear she has a haunted past, but she's kind to those who deserve it. And though she’s self-aware enough to know when she's outmatched, she won't go down without a fight…GUEST STAR.

Here’s the Episode 10 listing for the guy some think may be Aaron:

[LOGAN] Early to late 30s. An affable, good-natured, adventurous guy. Despite feeling like a bit of an outsider for most of his life (or perhaps because of it), he’s passionate about people and the good they can do. He doesn’t think twice about putting himself in danger if he believes something positive can come from it...RECURRING.

Here’s a note on the intel from The Spoiling Dead Fans, including details on who was cast from the Ep 4 calls:

If that’s true, it will be great to see Whale Rider’s Keisha Castle-Hughes in another cool role!

What do you think of these new characters coming to Season 5? Do you agree with speculation that the Episode 10 guy may be a new take on Aaron, or perhaps Heath instead?
