Pretty Little Liars Season 5, Episode 6 Review — “A” Almost Kills Ali!

On Pretty Little Liars Season 5, Episode 6 (“Run, Ali, Run”), the Liars had to face the fact that "A" is back, in a big way. We've been waiting for the big bad's return all season; did this episode deliver?

We loved this episode. After a few episodes where not much happened, last week things kicked into high gear, and this week kept the momentum going, thanks to some very scary moves on "A"'s part.

Last week "A" blew up a house; this week, they nearly killed Ali, and then made it clear what they want: Ali to stay in town. Clearly, "A" isn't done with their sick games. That's almost scarier than someone who was just looking to off her. Who knows when or how this will end.

"A"'s return also created a more dynamic atmosphere for all of the relationships — romantic and not — to develop in. From Caleb and Hanna re-bonding over booze to Emily convincing Paige to give up the names of Mona's crew, not to mention all the Hastings drama, this episode was overflowing with good relationship scenes. We also think the show is doing a good job slowly, slowly rebuilding Ezria. Extra credit for having Spencer call out the reasons it's a bad idea.

We give it 4.5 stars!
