The Walking Dead Season 5 Filming Spoilers: Terminus Return? Several Characters Seen
Every time we think we’re out of Terminus … they pull us back in.
The Walking DeadSeason 5 is now filming, and we haven't even heard about Terminus in a while. There was a ton of T-town activity in the first couple of weeks of filming, but in late May The Spoiling Dead Fans updated that the letters at Terminus had been covered up or removed. Then TSDF members shared details on filming in places like Griffin, Newnan, downtown Atlanta and Senoia, Georgia, and really not much about the Terminus location itself.
It sounded like Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company got out pretty fast, but since Gareth (Andrew J. West) was also seen out and about at a church setting (which also showed Glenn), maybe he joined or followed them? The story did not seem resolved.
Fast forward to July, and it sounds like there was some weekend action at Terminus.
On Saturday, July 12, TSDF wrote, "Any of our members in Atlanta around Terminus? Word going around is they are filming there now." On July 13, the site added, "They were '100 percent' filming at Terminus yesterday. We just don't know if it's episode filming or promotional. Word is they are filming again today." Another post shared a photo, noting, "Tarps put up around Terminus. Michael/Abe, Andrew/Rick, Sonequa/Sasha and Eulyn [Womble, of wardrobe dept.] were all seen yesterday."
They also added, "Andrew/Rick, Melissa/Carol, Norman/Daryl, Steven/Glenn, Lauren/Maggie and [Greg] Nicotero all at terminus. Few back ground walkers were seen too . Andrew/Rick, Michael/Abraham, Sonequa/Sasha and Chad/Tyrese were all there yesterday. They are filming something inside." And more: "Seems like a lot going on at Terminus today just for it to be ‘promo’ stuff .......and thangs. Hopefully we find out more soon as to what's actually going on. They have the main gate blocked with vans along with tarps covering all the fences." Later: "They seem to be packing up. Steven, Lauren and Norman have left and trailers are pulling out. They may have had tarps up but the wind doesn't play that game." They also noted that some banged-up vehicles (which you may recall seeing in Terminus in Season 4) were being taken out.
What’s that about? Greg Nicotero directed the premiere, so is he also directing this episode or were they doing Ep 1 reshoots or something? Were they returning to Terminus with unfinished business (revenge!) after the escape or doing more escape filming?
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres in October on AMC.
