We won’t be happy until we see these two characters explore the obvious chemistry between them. The last time they spoke, Original hybrid Klaus told baby vamp Caroline that, though Tyler was her first love, he intended to be her last. Yeah, swoon. Klaus is set to visit Mystic Falls sometime soon, and we’re hoping the unexplored romance between these two is finally addressed. We’d even let Caroline move from TVD to The Originals if it meant Klaroline could be together.
We ship Matt with pretty much everyone, but we saw some serious sparks between the blue-eyed bus boy and Traveler vamp Nadia in the mid-season finale. The two bonded over how terrible their mothers were, and Matt promised to keep safe the Traveler’s dagger for her – just in case Katherine changed her mind about wanting to change bodies. Sure, these two have already technically hooked up – during a Czech three-some with Rebekah – but we’re ready to see something happen between Nadia and Matt on this continent. Especially if it means more screen time for Mr. Donovan.
We know we already spent a Christmas wish on Klaroline, but – if that can’t happen for a while – we’d like to see Caroline explore things with BFF Stefan. These two could both do with some romantic stability right now, and we think they could offer that to one another. These two are besties who probably aren’t destined to end up together in the long run, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t right for one another right now. When Stefan lost his memory, Caroline was the only person he trusted. We kind of loved that. Bring on the Steroline!
This might be a controversial choice, but we’re kinda, sorta ready to see Elena hook up with someone who isn’t a Salvatore. In five seasons of TVD, she’s been obsessed with the gorgeous vampire brothers – and, fair enough – but a non-Salvatore hookup would not only be unexpected, but throw some interesting drama into the mix. These two used to be a thing before Elena’s parents died, and we think they still care about each other a lot. With Elena struggling to figure out the person she has become now that she’s a vamp, we could see her seeking solace in Matt’s steadfast humanity. And, again, more Matt is always a good thing.
