The Walking Dead Season 5 Premiere Will Answer Questions From Season 4

For the first time in a long time, Season 4 of The Walking Dead ended on a cliffhanger. Many of our survivors — with the exceptions of Beth Greene (Emily Kinney), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Tyreese (Chad Coleman), and baby Judith — were trapped in the Terminus train car, and although we have to assume that they’ll get out eventually, they’re at the mercy of others at this point. caught up with TWD co-executive producer Denise Huth, and they asked her what the most exciting part of putting together a premiere is, and how a season opener compares to a finale.

“Premieres are exciting because the audience is dying to know what’s happening, especially this year since we ended on a cliffhanger,” Denise started. “It’s about answering all those questions that fans have had all summer long, and setting up where we’re going for the rest of the year. Scott Gimple is very good at laying in all these little details in the first few episodes that will pay off during the season. With the finale, you want to be satisfied and leave people wanting more.”

And what can we expect from Season 5?

“A lot has happened to these people while they were apart. We don’t know where Beth is, the group doesn’t know what happened with Lizzie and Mika…there’s a lot of story that will affect these characters. Seeing them back together after everything they’ve lost will be really exciting,” Denise concludes.

TWD comic book creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman has said we’ll see Beth again “fairly quickly” into Season 5, but we have no idea how the Lizzie and Mika reveal will play out. Will Carol and Tyreese tell the rest of the group the whole story? Will the others, especially Rick, understand why Carol had to kill Lizzie?
