This Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Premiere Promo Is Terrifying (VIDEO)

Who knew Australia could be so scary? Aussie network Fox8 has a new promo for the Pretty Little Liars Season 5 premiere, and it is seriously spooky. Check it out!

The 45-second trailer focuses on Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse), as she and the other Liars (sans Aria, who is presumably hanging by Ezra’s hospital bedside) try to make it out of NYC — or so we assume from the episode’s ominous title, “EscApe From New York.” Predictably, “A” seems to take issue with Ali’s flight plan. Luckily, she has her BFFs on her side. In voiceover, we hear Emily (Shay Mitchell) reassure Ali: “We’re all in this together.” And Spencer’s supportive-in-her-own-aggressive-way: “Look, Ali, either you trust us or you don’t.”

Though we don’t glean much more than atmosphere from the promo, that atmosphere is creepy enough. We get a shot of an ambulance (Ezra’s?) moving through the NYC streets. Next, we see Ali shakily hanging up a phone while Emily, Hanna (Ashley Benson), and Spencer (Troian Bellisario) stand behind her. “If they knew her secrets,” the voice of the promo says, “they’d be running, too.”

And run they do — in many a promo shot! We see Ali running by herself down a city street, the Liars running onto what looks like a theater stage, and the Liars waiting in a darkened room. (OK, that last one isn’t running, but you better believe there was either running before or after that shot.) “There are some things you don’t need to know about,” a desperate Ali tells her friends. The promo end with a gloved hand coming up to cover Ali’s mouth. Yikes! What have the Liars gotten themselves into this time?

Are you as freaked out by this trailer as we are? Will the Liars make it out of New York City unscathed? Sound off in the comments below!
