Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Relationships: Who’s Breaking Up and Who’s Still Together?

Pretty Little Liars Season 4 saw some serious turbulence in the relationship department. It’s all a blur of ski lifts, transatlantic trips, and ghost murders. What can we expect from our favorite (and not-so-favorite) ships in Season 5? We’ve gathered what we know about

Spoby: Spoby is still together come Season 5, and will be doing OK at least through the first few episodes. Keegan Allen (Toby) shared this adorable behind-the-scenes video of he and Troian Bellisario (Spencer) snuggling in bed together in Episode 2, so that seems pretty promising. Past that, Spencer will finally be moving onto a “healthier place” after all of the drama of the last half-season. That being said, Troian admitted: "I think Spencer's never far from the dark side, and I think her whole character is based on a lot of fragility and darkness and I think that no matter what happens to her, she'll always carry that."

Paily: Paily seems to be officially dunzo after Paige (Lindsey Shaw) betrayed Emily’s (Shay Mitchell) trust and tipped the police off about Ali’s whereabouts. But that doesn’t mean Paige is out of the picture completely! She and Emily will very much still have a dynamic, especially if writer Joseph Dougherty has anything to say about it. According to him, Paige will not take Ali’s return well: “I think Paige is threatened. She’s taken actions which in the writer’s room, I agree with, and everyone thinks that I’m cranking,” he told Alloy Entertainment. Speaking on the addition of a hot new girl to the Rosewood swim team who happens to befriend Emily, Shay said: "For the Paige and Emily fans, I would say to hold tight. Nothing's ever said and done.”

Haleb: Tyler Blackburn (Caleb) is back in Season 5, Episode 5 and while Tyler teases that Caleb and Hanna (Ashley Benson) will share a “lovely reunion,” we don’t think these two will be getting back together anytime soon. Not only is Hanna still involved with hottie Travis, but it sounds like Caleb and Ali might be sharing a connection. And that’s not all they may be sharing.

Ezria: These two are far from reconciled, but Ezra’s (Ian Harding) set to survive the gunshot he sustained protecting the Liars in the Season 4 finale, so that’s something! And Ian seems to think there’s a good chance for Ezra and Lucy Hale (Aria) moving forward. The actor told E! Online: "They're going to have to clearly like regain trust, but I don't think it's the end. Emphasis on 'think,'" Ian said. "I think the love that they have is just so insanely strong, and it's why such a cerebral, intellectual guy as Ezra decided to say, 'No, screw you law enforcement, I'm gonna go for this.' I don't think that can just simply end because I think Ezra is a good person. He's just driven by this obsession."

Emison: There are definitely still feelings between Emily and Alison, but what are they? The two might have a chance to explore them come Season 5 as Ali is returning to Rosewood. Of course, Emily’s feelings for ex-girlfriend Paige will complicate matters. Joseph Dougherty called the Paige/Emily/Ali dynamic: “arguably … the most interesting triangle of the season.”

Mina (Mona/Mike): Are there any other Mina fans in the house? We’ve yet to get any scoop on this surprisingly sweet romance, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground. The relationship between Mike (Cody Allen Christian) and Mona (Janel Parrish) worked unexpectedly well, and we were so sad to see Mona break it off with Mike. We hope these two get some screen time together in Season 5!

Which ships, together or apart, do you hope will get epic screen time in Season 5? Sound off in the comments below!
