Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Spoiler Roundup — Here’s Everything We Know So Far

The Pretty Little Liars Season 5 premiere isn’t until June 10, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start talking about it now! Here’s everything we know about Season 5 so far.

Ali is returning to Rosewood. Perhaps the biggest deal of the new season is that Alison will be back in Rosewood! According to Sasha Pieterse, Ali has to "figure out who she is. She's been hiding for so long, and she's a victim now.” It sounds like we’ll be seeing a totally new side to the former mean girl, and that includes how she interacts with the Liars. And she’s not the only thing that’s changed. Sasha also teased that Rosewood "has been devastated by everything that has happened.” Yeah, we’re not sure how there are people still choosing to live in this town.

Ezra isn’t dead. Good news, friends: Ezra is definitely alive. Ian Harding confirmed as much at the Season 4 finale event in New York City. The bigger questions: Can he be redeemed? And does Ezria still have a chance? Answers: Totally subjective. And, apparently. Either way, we have a feeling one theme of Season 5 is going to be Ezra’s redemption.

Caleb is back, and he has chemistry with Ali. Huzzah! Caleb is returning to Rosewood in Season 5, Episode 5 (aka the 100th episode), but don’t get your Haleb streamers out yet. Yes, they have a “lovely reunion,” but according to Marlene King, not only is Caleb a “changed person” when he returns from Ravenswood, but he will share “chemistry” with Alison. As in: there may be a Hanna/Caleb/Ali love triangle in Season 5. Drama!

Spencer is better — for now. Now that she has answers, it sounds like Spencer will finally be moving onto a “healthier place” after all of the drama of the last half-season. But, beware! Troian said: "I think Spencer's never far from the dark side, and I think her whole character is based on a lot of fragility and darkness and I think that no matter what happens to her, she'll always carry that."

One couple is spiraling. Word on the street is that “an unexpected 'PLL' will spiral with her boyfriend.” Uh oh! One of the seemingly solid couple of the show is about to fall apart. Our first instinct is to guess Spoby, but what if it refers to Haleb? We know that Caleb will be back, and these two have a lot of underlying issues that could cause trouble. Either way, it sounds like Season 5 might be a season of heartbreak.

Lucas will return. According to Marlene, “Lucas will leave his bunk beds and head back to Rosewood High” in Season 5. That’s right, folks! Lucas will no longer be homeschooled, which in this series, seems to translate to total social isolation. But why does Lucas decide to return to school? Does it have anything to do with Ali’s return?

New faces coming to Rosewood. Keegan Allen teased that there will be many new faces in Season 5. But what does that mean? Newly-returned faces like our pal Lucas? Or new, new faces? We kind of hope it’s the former. There are already too many characters on this show to keep track of!

Ravenswood will have closure. For those hoping that Pretty Little Liars might find a way to wrap up some of the dangling story threads left with Ravenswood’s cancellation, it sounds like you’re in luck! According to writer Joseph Dougherty: “We are going to in a satisfactory way, as not to leave you hanging.”

The 100th episode will include a big reveal. Season 5, Episode 5 marks the 100th episode of Pretty Little Liars and according to Marlene, it’s going to be a big one: "We're planning that episode right now, and I'm going to write the script," Marlene told The Hollywood Reporter. "We hope that it's emotionally epic for us. There will be a big reveal: One of our mysteries that we've had for a long time on the show will be revealed in the 100th."
